March Madness

What a disappointing first round. Hardly any upsets and many Cinderellas are already home. Seeing Duke fall in the first round for the first time sine '96 is fantastic. Illinois outplayed and looked to be the only 12 seed to make it, only to collapse. You deserve to lose if you get outscored 12-0 in the final 4:30 minutes of any game. I don't care if you are up by 25 and all the reserves are in. McBride is a joke, and I cannot believe Weber spoke highly of his leadership. One of the leading three point shooters in Big Ten history misses all his free throws on a three point foul. What? OK, this was not meant to be a rant on U of I but has certainly turned into it. I hope there will be some upsets in the second round to spark something into this tourney. Oh, and it is St. Patrick's Day, which means it is time to crack a Guinness, make a carbomb, and throw on the leprechaun outfit. Happy St. Patty's Day to all!!

My favorite time of year. There is nothing better than sipping on a Black and Tan, knowing St. Patrick's Day is around the corner, watching March Madness. Ah, life is good. A toast to all the hard-working college basketball players fighting with every ounce of grit to become one of the lucky 65 teams. The rivalries and competitiveness of the sport are unrivaled by any other. Make your picks and watch the Cinderellas. Their slippers will come off and they will disappear before the night is over. However, there is hardly more fun than watching them knock of the Dukes of the world.
